About Us: What is Oklacon?
Oklacon is an annual anthropomorphics convention in Oklahoma. Through outdoor activities,
games, art, and music, Oklacon brings together some of the most talented, creative,
and down-right cool individuals in the furry community for a weekend of fun.
Oklacon is markedly different from other furry conventions. Instead of the often-cramped, nose-bleed pace of hotel conventions, Oklacon embraces the wide open spaces in Roman Nose State Park. We offer the most relaxed convention atmosphere, where guests warm up around the campfire under the stars, hunt each other in games of Predator and Prey (put on by our great friends at Feral!), and hike along the woody, winding trails of the park. We have a storied tradition for providing an experience that is unparalleled by other conventions, and are proud to be the first and longest-running outdoor-format convention in the United States. Oklacon is also the best-value furry convention in the United States. Our registration is one of the most affordable in the country, and even the most basic registration level includes basic lodging and at least three meals included. (Try getting that kind of value at a hotel con!)
A refreshing alternative to the 'same old song and dance', Oklacon is a convention with a strong return rate and great feel. While we have inspired a number of spinoffs across the country, we were the first outdoor furry convention in the United States. Today, we're the largest outdoor furry convention in the world! We sport a diverse group of attendees, about half of which each year are returning as they have every year since the beginning, and the other half making Oklacon their first furry convention ever. We are both seasoned outdoorsmen, and brand new at this tent-pitchin' thing. No matter from what walk of life you come from, we think you will find a home with us, and we know that you, like many of us, will form life-long friendships through this unique and special experience.

About Us: What is the Furry Community?
The furry community is a diverse group of individuals who are in some way fans of
furries, also known as 'funny animals' or 'anthropomorphic animals'. Bugs Bunny,
Tom and Jerry, and werewolves are all examples of morphic animals; animals that
have human characteristics.
Some in our community are furry fans, who enjoy furry artwork and fiction. Others enjoy the concept of funny animals so much, they create their own characters, create amazing artwork of them, write intriguing fiction about them, or role play as them in a number of manners. Still others enjoy the idea of actually being a furry so much, they wear collars, yip, and otherwise live out their characters. But in the end, our fondness for anthropomorphics and of each other, a group of fantastic individuals who generally love to gather together for a weekend of fun, makes us a community.
Many Oklacon attendees are curious as to what it's all about and make Oklacon their first furry convention. If you haven't yet seen all the wonderful things our community has to offer, we hope you too will make our convention your very first.
